It should be a good weekend, hope to see you there.

- June 16th show at Bob Jass Chevrolet in Elburn –

It’s hard to believe that another year has gone by since our last event at Bob Jass Chevy, but June is upon us and Bob Jass has been gracious enough to invite us back again. This year’s date is set for Saturday, June 16th, from 11am to 3pm.  Those who have attended this event in the past can tell you that Bob and his crew have been very hospitable to the NICC. Though the shop is normally closed on Saturdays it is transformed into a dining facility for the NICC the third Saturday in June every year. Bob has the parts guys and mechanics turning burgers, brats etc. on the grill, stocking the coolers with ice and drinks, and keeping the tables stocked with chips, cookies, condiments, and so on. Though we have some big eaters in the club, I have never seen Bob run out of food.

Bob Jass Chevy is located on Route 47 about 2 miles south of Route 64 in downtown Elburn, Illinois. The site is perfect to show off our cars as Bob always clears the front of the dealership and lets us line our cars right along Route 47 so all the cars going by can view them. We get a lot of walk in traffic and many people who go home to get cars of their own to join us. We have gotten a few new members to the club this way.

Make sure you bring some folding chairs to sit in because a lot of time is spent sitting around telling stories, discussing projects, and just laughing it up. Once in a while you may have to get up to check out the new cars or the ice cream shop across the lot, in case you still have room after the BBQ. We generally get about 20-25 cars show up for this event but I would really like to see us break a record this year so, if you haven’t made it to this event yet, please clear your schedules and make it a point to get out this year.

Date: Saturday June 16th

Time: 11am to 3pm.

Location: Bob Jass Chevrolet in Elburn.

Address: 300 S. Main St (Route 47) Elburn, IL

Interested in going to "Chevelle-stock"

Floyd Drinkwine and I will be attending the ACES regional show in Strongsville, Ohio this coming August 2nd thru 4th. This is the closest show to our area and is held at a Holiday Inn Hotel outside of Cleveland Ohio, on the first weekend in August. It is only about a six hour drive across Indiana and straight to the Cleveland area, so it is a super easy ride.

This year it is the 10th year for this show and I have been there twice. The show is well attended and the guys from the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club do a fantastic job to keep everything fair and square, and keeping everyone occupied including in the evenings with a drive in movie and awards banquet.

If you are interested, take a look at the Northern Ohio Chevelle Club website and see what the guys have done in the past. The dinner show is always great and this is a great place to meet all your old Chevelle friends, and maybe a few new ones.
